Happy #nationalspumoniday - in honor of this beautiful day we would like to share with the world our fresh new spin on an original classic. The Spumoni Bar! Real homemade gelato, layers of organic cherry, pistachios and of course infused with the good stuff 😉. Give it a try yourself and witness that there is nothing else like it.

History: According to a Chicago Tribune article from July 4, 1979, a “genuine spumoni” recipe was brought to the United States from Nola, Italy in 1905. Salvatore Lezza started a bakery in Chicago along with his wife, Lucia where they served the original recipe of the famous dessert.

So much has happened to the Acropolis of Athens ov

So much has happened to the Acropolis of Athens over the centuries. The site has been conquered and used by many cultures and rulers for a wide variety of reasons. One significant story we learned was from the world war 2 era when Germany invaded and raised the swastika flag on top of the monumental hill. Two brave university students snuck by the guards and took down the enemy flag leaving unseen.

The next morning the people of Athens woke up to witnessing the acropolis free from the enemy symbol. This was one of the first acts of resistance in Greece and one of the first in Europe over all. Today the rightful Greek flag flies high over all of Athens.

It is quite a hike to the top of the acropolis so we had to bring our sport rub along to soothe our muscles before the trek back down.
